Mr. Jianchen Chen，who is the authority on harmonica, the artist of harmonica, the member of Chinese Musician Associations and the chairman of Shanghai Harmonica Association, died in his bed at 12:58am on 10th Auguest 2005 at the age of 94.
He was the Luwan District Representation of the National People's Congress, the district member of Political Council, the member of China National Demoratic Construction Association and the former vice manager of Shanghai Culture and Education Corp.
Mr. Chen dedicated all his life to harmonica and immensely contributed to the China harmonica music .His death is a great loss to the China harmonica music and the republic of China harmonica.
